More Than Thread: The Story Behind Tatted Creations
When someone receives a handmade piece from Tatted Creations, they're receiving more than thread and knots carefully woven together. They're receiving a piece of family tradition, a labor of love, and a reminder that beautiful things are worth creating by hand.
My tatting journey began when I was about eight years old. My paternal grandmother patiently taught me the art of tatting, passing down a skill that had already been treasured by generations before her. My maternal grandmother also tatted, though she passed away when I was very young. Today, I am the only descendant carrying on this family tradition.
Every bookmark, cross, keepsake, and lace creation is made one stitch at a time. In a world filled with mass-produced products, there is something special about creating each piece by hand. The rhythm of the shuttle, the forming of each knot, and watching a design come to life brings me genuine joy.
But the creative process doesn't stop with the tatting itself.
I enjoy every part of creating—from selecting thread colors and choosing patterns to carefully packaging each order. Every detail matters because each piece is made with a purpose: to encourage, bless, and bring a little beauty into someone's day.
My faith is at the center of everything I create. That's why you'll often see the words "Created for His Glory" alongside my work. Whether a bookmark finds its place inside a favorite Bible, a keepsake marks a special occasion, or a gift is given to someone who needs encouragement, my prayer is that each piece serves as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness.
One of my favorite parts of running Tatted Creations is knowing that these handmade pieces often become gifts. They are tucked into greeting cards, given at baptisms, weddings, graduations, and memorials, or shared simply because someone wanted another person to know they are loved.
Thoughtfully Made. Thoughtful Gifts.
Those four words perfectly capture what Tatted Creations is all about.
Thank you for supporting handmade artistry, family traditions, and small businesses. Every purchase allows me to continue preserving this beautiful heritage and sharing it with others.
With gratitude,
Amie
